Flow Podcast

Flow Podcast is a Brazilian interview podcast founded in 2018 in São Paulo by Igor Coelho, Bruno Aiub and Gianluca Eugenio. It began as long, unscripted video interviews on YouTube.

Before the podcast, Coelho, known as Igor 3K, and Aiub, known as Monark, each ran a video game channel on YouTube. They built the format on loose conversations without a list of questions, taking The Joe Rogan Experience as their model. Eugenio produced the early episodes, which were recorded in an apartment. The founders paid for the equipment themselves until early 2020, when sponsors and advertising income began to cover the costs.

Interviews were streamed live and unedited and often lasted three to four hours. On August 13, 2020, Flow Podcast reached number one on the Brazilian chart of Apple Podcasts for the first time. Its guests included artists, comedians and politicians, among them presidential candidates and state governors during election campaigns. An interview with President Jair Bolsonaro on August 8, 2022, during the general election campaign, drew more than 16 million views, a record for a Brazilian political interview online.

On February 8, 2022, Estúdios Flow dismissed Aiub after he spoke in favor of the legal recognition of a Nazi party during a live episode. Aiub later sold his stake in the company, and Coelho remained the main host. The Monark case led to a wide debate in Brazil about the limits of free speech, and several sponsors briefly left the podcast. Estúdios Flow later launched other shows on esports, comedy and sports.
