Huberman Lab

Huberman Lab is an American science and health podcast hosted by neurobiologist Andrew Huberman that began in 2021. The show translates neurobiology, physiology, and behavioral research into practical routines for everyday physical and mental performance.

Huberman, a tenured professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, launched the project on January 4, 2021, by releasing a video and audio episode examining brain function and neuroplasticity. Episodes typically run between two and three hours, structured as deep analytical explorations of single health topics or long-form expert interviews. The podcast operates independently through Scicomm Media, a media company that Huberman co-founded. Topics center on behavioral tools such as morning sunlight viewing, cold water exposure, non-sleep deep rest routines, and sleep optimization.

Guest episodes feature researchers and clinicians across neuroscience and fitness, including sleep scientist Matthew Walker, exercise physiologist Andy Galpin, and geographer Jared Diamond. In May 2022, Huberman held a live stage tour titled The Brain Body Contract, hosting speaking dates in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco. A spin-off audio series titled Huberman Lab Essentials launched in 2024 to present concise 30-minute summaries of foundational health practices, alongside regular companion newsletters that reached over 700,000 subscribers. In October 2026, he held additional live stage presentations in San Francisco.

Huberman published Protocols: An Operating Manual for the Human Body in September 2026, and the book entered The New York Times Best Seller list at number one in the Advice, How-To & Miscellaneous category. In March 2024, New York Magazine published an investigative report on Huberman's personal life, professional claims, and the scale of his Stanford research laboratory during the COVID-19 pandemic. A spokesperson stated that the laboratory remained operational. The podcast maintains distribution across Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube without an exclusive network affiliation.
