Pod Save America

Pod Save America is an American political podcast hosted by Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Tommy Vietor, and Dan Pfeiffer that began in January 2017. The hosts previously worked in the administration of Barack Obama and created the company Crooked Media to release the project.

The project started after the hosts ended their previous podcast in December 2016. In November 2017, the podcast reached a milestone of 120 million downloads. Crooked Media expanded the concept by organizing live stage tours under the title Pod Tours America, starting with dates in several American cities in 2017 and later adding shows in European capitals. The company also launched related podcast spin-offs, including Pod Save the World, Pod Save the People, and Lovett or Leave It, covering international diplomacy, social activism, and comedy.

Episodes feature panel discussions on government policy, national campaigns, and political journalism alongside interviews with public officials. In the final days of the presidential administration in January 2017, the podcast presented the outgoing president's final interview while in office. In 2018, the podcast launched Vote Save America, an initiative that organized voter registration and election volunteering. In fall 2018, the television network HBO aired four one-hour television specials focused on the 2018 American midterm elections. These specials filmed in Miami, Austin, Philadelphia, and Irvine, combining news discussions with short documentary field reports that examined regional voting matters.

In March 2022, SiriusXM signed a multi-year sales and distribution agreement with Crooked Media to handle advertising and expand reach across satellite and streaming services. The podcast received two honors at the 2021 Webby Awards in the Interview and Talk Show category, and later earned the 2025 Webby Award for News and Politics Podcast. In late 2024, an episode featuring senior presidential campaign staff members attracted widespread public criticism after the guests attributed an electoral defeat to broader political conditions rather than campaign decisions.
