The Tim Ferriss Show

The Tim Ferriss Show is an interview podcast hosted by American author and investor Tim Ferriss, which began in 2014. The project started in April 2014 as an audio experiment after television network delays affected his previous media work. The first episode featured a conversation with venture investor Kevin Rose.

Ferriss structures each episode around open-ended discussions that examine daily habits, morning routines, workout schedules, and reading choices. Episodes run from one to three hours, giving guests room to detail the methods behind their career accomplishments. Alongside standard one-on-one interviews, the podcast includes occasional segments called The Random Show, where Ferriss reunites with recurring guests to discuss books, technology, and personal experiments. Episodes highlight practical techniques across business, athletics, and the arts, with interview subjects answering questions about pivotal failures, favorite investments under $100, and personal guidelines for managing time.

The podcast reached 70 million downloads in 2016 and passed 100 million downloads later that same year. By 2024, total downloads exceeded 1 billion across digital directories. Independent distribution placed audio and video files across platforms such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube. Apple selected the podcast three times for its Best of Apple Podcasts honor. In 2016, The Wall Street Journal listed the show among its top podcasts for self-improvement. Ferriss tested a listener-supported funding model in 2019 before returning to commercial sponsorships.

Interviews from the podcast provided the source material for two print books written by Ferriss. In 2016, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt published Tools of Titans, which compiled quotes, morning routines, and advice from guests including actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and entertainer Jamie Foxx. Ferriss followed this in 2017 with Tribe of Mentors, adapting additional interview questions and insights from figures such as primatologist Jane Goodall. Selected podcast episodes also led to standalone audio collections focusing on mental health, investment strategy, and physical fitness.
